The Graduation Requirements impact Graduating Classes of 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
Standards-based grading measures your student’s mastery of the reported standards for a class, or how well your student understands the material in class.
5th Year Early/Middle College Program:
The Berrien County 5th Year Early/Middle College program provides students with the opportunity to get a head start on college and in life by earning an associate degree or certificate for FREE while they are still in high school. Tuition, books, and fees are provided through this program at no cost to students and families. Students must apply for the program during their sophomore year and will start with the program starting in the fall of junior year.
Melissa Springsteen, the 5th Year Early/Middle College Consultant for Berrien County, will be here on Tuesday, November 27th, during ICE time to meet with all current 10th graders and provide information about this exciting program. There are also parent information sessions planned for the following dates in December:
- December 4, 2018 at 6:00 pm North County (LMC Napier)
- December 5, 2018 at 6:00 pm South County (SMC Niles)
- December 11, 2018 at 6:00 pm Mid-County (Berrien RESA)

Are you a student who has completed a lot of volunteer work over the past year? You may qualify for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award! This award was created to honor students in grades 5 through 12 for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service.
Qualifying applicants will receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award and will become eligible to win $1,000 or more, along with an all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C.! Stop by Student Services for additional information.
River Valley Athletics
Wrestling Club Sign-ups on November 12
Youth Wrestling Club is available for children aged 5 and up, and is an excellent opportunity to learn skills, get in shape, compete, and have fun. The cost is $50, which includes a t-shirt.
Practices will be held Monday and Thursday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 PM beginning November 15th. Click the link below for more information on this opportunity.
Athletic Event Tickets
Purchase tickets for home and away games in the library. The student cost is $2.00 for away games and $3.00 for home games. With the money you save, you can buy snacks at the game. See Mrs. Flick in the library to get your tickets.
Family Sport Passes
Each family pass costs $150 and is good for all home sports in all seasons! It is a great bargain for your family and a one-time cost for the whole year!
