Halloween Fun on Thursday, October 31st
On Thursday, October 31st, we will have our classroom parties –
Three Oaks parties will take place in the morning and Chikaming parties will take place in the afternoon. Each classroom has a head room parent that is working with your child’s teacher to make plans for this fun event. Please call the school office if you have any questions on party times.
At 12:30 on Thursday, October 31st, all of River Valley Elementary will join together at the Three Oaks Campus for our Annual Costume Parade led by the Marching Mustangs! The band will lead the students from the school through town. The parade will turn around at the Post office and head back to the school. Families, friends, and community are invited to line the street & check out the fun!
Chikaming students will board the bus at about 12:10 pm and return back to school by 1:30 pm. Please remember in planning your child’s costume that this event is intended to be lots of fun… violent or bloody costumes are not acceptable, nor are weapons of any kind, even if they are a part of your costume.
We want this to be family-friendly and appropriate for all students, all ages – so choose a costume that is fun, without blood, gore, violence, or weapons of any kind! Students will not be allowed to wear inappropriate costumes in the parade.
Mustang Moonlight Madness:
The 5th Annual Mustang Moonlight Madness will take place on Friday, November 22, at 7 pm in Jerry Schaffer Gymnasium, River Valley Middle/High School. Admission is free.
Events include: Meet the Team & Cheerleaders, Mens’ & Ladies’ Alumni games, Student/Alumni pep band, & 50/50 raffle.
Event shirts will be available for purchase.
If there is a change in your student’s transportation, the office must be notified via a note, phone, or email. Students without proper notification will be sent home the way that they would under normal circumstances.
If you have a transportation issue after 3:00 pm, the transportation department can be reached at 269-756-7899.
According to our attendance procedures, it is important that families contact the school when students will be absent along with the reason for the absence. Please remember to give your child’s school office a call in the morning if they will not be in school.
