While we continue to experience winter weather, the start of baseball spring training this month is a sure sign that warmer weather will soon arrive.
Congratulations to the following students who qualified for the BPA State Competition in March: Victoria DesLauries, Nicole Gibson, Teya Haughey, Katharine Kersey, Hannah Korbel, Alan Lang, Noe Patino, Logan Payne and Allyson Rochefort. Also, congratulations to the following staff members who recently retired: Bob Brown (Transportation), Jeanie Hauch (Staff Assistant) and Julia Pincek (Special Education Teacher).
Parent Conferences will take place February 20—22, and will follow the same format as the fall conferences in October. Please see page 2 of this newsletter for the conference schedule.
The spring musical production South Pacific will be held on Friday, March 23, Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25 in the MHS Auditorium. Friday and Saturday performances will start at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday’s performance will start at 3:00 p.m. Mrs. Ehlert and the students have been working hard preparing for this production.
This summer, we will have sinking fund projects taking place at all three buildings. The projects planned include:
- Chikaming — bathroom renovations
- Three Oaks — parking lot replacement
- MHS — two bathroom renovations, locker room renovations and convert the old auto shop into a fitness center
The plan is for the fitness center to be available for community use, which was one of the original project ideas when the sinking fund was passed in 2014. As a result of our community’s support in the sinking fund, we have been able to continue to make improvements to our buildings.
