New Procedures for Volunteers
Beginning January 1, 2017, new procedures will be in effect for the approval of volunteers at River Valley. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, we have contracted with Background Investigation Bureau (BIB) to conduct high-quality background checks on all potential volunteers.
Parents or community members who would like to volunteer in our schools can click on the following link to begin the process:
Background checks are completed at no cost to our potential volunteers. Volunteers who have already been approved for the 2016/17 school year do not need to have another background check completed for this school year. If you need assistance, please contact your child’s school office.
Bus Student Mentors – A Chance to Earn Community Service Hours!
The transportation department is offering an opportunity for you to earn hours toward your community service by being a bus student mentor. If you already ride the bus, why not make it count! Earn a half hour a day by sitting with a younger student. See Mr. Goodman or your bus driver for details.
There are several scholarship opportunities available at this time. Check out the latest RV Middle / High School Newsletter for more information!

St. Joe Lion’s Club Middle School Basketball Tournament
River Valley participated in the St. Joe Lion’s Club Middle School Basketball Tournament this past weekend, going 2 and 2. Team members were 7th graders Jax Lovison, Jagger Wolnik, and Alex Patton…and 8th graders Tayte West, Evan Strefling, Ben Patton, Jordon Sittig, and Lennon Lange.
The team represented our school very well in how they carried themselves, and how they played the game. They learned how to win the close ones, winning their last two games by one point. In one of those games, a weekend highlight came on Saturday, when Ben Patton caught a pass at half court, took four dribbles, and banked in the game-winning shot from 15 feet, just before the buzzer sounded.
Congratulations to this improving group of players!

Season Sport Passes
If you are planning on coming to many sporting events at River Valley it might be a good idea to consider our family pass ticket option. This pass allows admission for everyone in the immediate family to enter all RV athletic events by simply showing the pass or telling the ticket taker the number for your pass. Each family pass costs $150 and is good for all home sports in all seasons! It is a great bargain for your family and a one-time cost for the whole year!
