Building Healthy Communities
We are proud to announce we were chosen as 1 of 80 Michigan schools statewide, to join the Building Healthy Communities: Step Up for School Wellness program that supports children’s health by providing students, teachers, and administrators with the necessary tools to create a healthier school environment.
Building Healthy Communities is supported by multiple statewide organizations, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Michigan Department of Education, Michigan Fitness Foundation, Michigan State University Extension, Michigan Team Nutrition, United Dairy Industry of Michigan, the University of Michigan, Wayne State University Center for Health and Community Impact and Action for Healthy Kids.
Mobile Dentist will be here on January 29
Great News! Our school has partnered with Smile Programs to offer in-school dental care. If your child does not see a dentist regularly or you would like them to see the in-school dentist, simply fill out a permission form in your child’s Friday folder this week. There may be no cost to you if your child is insured with Medicaid! Private insurance and affordable self-pay options are also available.
Having your child seen by the in-school dentist saves you valuable time. Top quality care is provided by local, licensed dentists right in the familiar surroundings of your child’s school. Dental care includes a complete exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride, and sealants when needed, and in some cases, restorative care such as fillings.
If you plan to go on any field trips with your child please remember you need to be an Approved Volunteer. To become an approved volunteer please click on the following link to begin the process: https://bib.com/SECUREVOLUNTEER/RIVER-VALLEY-SCHOOL-DISTRICT/.
Background checks are completed at no cost to our potential volunteers. Volunteers who have already been approved for the 2016/17 school year do not need to have another background check completed for this school year. If you need assistance, please contact your child’s school office.

River Valley Athletics
Season Sport Passes
If you are planning on coming to many sporting events at River Valley it might be a good idea to consider our family pass ticket option. This pass allows admission for everyone in the immediate family to enter all RV athletic events by simply showing the pass or telling the ticket taker the number for your pass.
Each family pass costs $150 and is good for all home sports in all seasons! It is a great bargain for your family and a one-time cost for the whole year!
Tickets for all games (home and away) can be purchased from your school office for $3.00 each.
